Missing the usual holiday and camp cheer? Join us on Saturday December 19th from 1pm-5pm! We will have prizes for participating in different activities, a chance to explore your local Metro Vancouver Regional Park… and of course S’MORES! This will be a great chance to connect with new and old friends, learn about some local ecology and of course play camp games and share camp memories!
Who can join: Absolutely anyone! Youth aged 12 -18 and their families are especially encouraged!
When: December 19, 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
What are we doing: Come learn about how to identify native and non-native species, learn how to use the iNaturalist app, make some new friends, and win some prizes! Then join us for a cozy virtual gathering to bring in the holiday cheer!
Where do we meet: Virtually then off to whatever park is closest to you!
What do I need to participate?
- Access to a smartphone/camera + computer (with Zoom and iNaturalist installed)
- Access to a nearby Metro Vancouver Regional Park! Don’t have one? Any park will work but you may have to do a little more searching!
- (Optional) Ingredients for Smores! More info and instructions will be sent upon registration.
Experience Needed: None! We welcome any and all participants
COVID Precautions: Participants will only be interacting with each other virtually! While off in their own regional parks, participants are asked to ensure they follow all proper public health orders and use their own risk assessment when out in public.
