Spotlight Series: The Resilient Rubus and its Role in Park Restoration

SPES is a not-for-profit organization which promotes awareness of and respect for the natural world through collaborative leadership in environmental education, research, and conservation in Stanley Park.
Jeannine Johnstone, a SPES employee, will be presenting on stewardship programs in Stanley Park with topics including: restoration sites, their invasive mapping program, and how to get involved with restoration in the park.
The main portion of Jeannine’s presentation will be on a comparative identification of rubus species commonly found in this region such as Himalayan blackberry, evergreen blackberry, trailing blackberry, salmonberry and thimbleberry.
