About Us

CTS Youth Society is a summer camp program that aims to connect every youth in Metro Vancouver with their natural environment, their community, and each other through life-changing outdoor experiences. For youth and by youth, CTS provides free and accessible community education through environmental stewardship, leadership programs, and public service.

“From the beginning, our focus has been giving youth the tools and opportunities to explore nature and the parks in their backyard. A lifelong love of nature starts on that first day of camp.”

Janet Antonio, Executive Director

Our Story

For over 20 years, we have curated a space that allows youth to get their hands dirty, spend time outside, burn marshmallows, capture the flag, eat carrots from their own community garden, tell stories around a campfire, teach each other life lessons, learn outdoor skills, and learn even more about themselves.

We are dedicated to developing leadership and social responsibility in youth through outdoor recreation, environmental stewardship, and youth ownership.

To put it simply, we are for youth, by youth.

The Mission

To connect every youth in Metro Vancouver with their natural environment, their community, and each other through life-changing outdoor experiences

The Vision(s)… we’re ambitious.

  1. Create region-wide opportunities for youth to challenge themselves in leadership, social responsibility and personal development.
  2. Provide youth with opportunities to connect with their community through citizen action, environmental stewardship, public service, and community education.
  3. Support and integrate youth into park and community-associated activities and purposes.

The Impact

This past summer, we provided over 500 kids with the opportunity to attend summer camp, completely free of charge. That’s over 500 smiles, 500 s’mores, and 500+ friendships, in just one summer.
