Mish-koop-i-tum (meaning “discover” in Michif) Camps are in collaboration with the North Fraser Métis Association and Stream of Dreams. On select days throughout the summer, participants can enjoy all the usual great experiences of a CTS Overnight Camp, with the added bonus of activities being led by a Métis leaders from our community.

Activities can include:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Games
  • Food and cooking
  • Culture and storytelling

Who can attend Mishkoopitum Camps?

These camps are designed for youth ages 12-14, but open to all teens 18 years of age and under who want to learn more about Indigenous culture.

What do I bring?

Mishkoopitum Campers should bring a sun hat, flashlight, water bottle, a fresh change of clothes, extra layers for weather and warmth, backpack, bug spray, sunscreen, sturdy footwear (ideally waterproof), toothbrush, toothpaste, any other toiletries, medications, and a sleeping bag with sleeping pad. 

*CTS provides tents, food, and other essential camping equipment. We can also loan sleeping bags and sleeping pads to those who do not have their own… just let us know!
