Our Weekday Excursion camps are a beginners introduction to the great outdoors. This program focuses on getting youth outside, moving and connected with nature and each other. Weekday Excursion camps are a weekday excursion (Tuesday-Friday) at Burnaby Lake Regional Park, lead by our fantastic staff and Peer Leaders.
This is your opportunity to have fun, become a better leader, learn new skills, and enjoy the natural beauty right here in Metro Vancouver’s backyard.
Activities can include:
- Hiking
- Community gardening
- Arts and crafts
- Activities on the boardwalk
- Nature walks and eco-learning
- Birding
- Camp games
Who can attend Weekday Excursion Camps?
Weekday Excursion camps are designed for youth ages 12-14, but open to all teens 18 years of age and under who want to explore our natural world, meet new people, and develop their confidence and leadership skills. Camps are lead by Peer Leaders (aged 15-18) alongside our Camp Supervisors.
Where are Weekday Excursion Camps?
Burnaby Lake Regional Park (Burnaby)
Participants will have the opportunity to attend day camps at this local urban oasis. Pickup and drop off are typically at Avalon Parking Lot, by Burnaby Lake, located at 9110 Avalon Ave, Burnaby, BC. We will let you know where to meet us when you register for camp.
When are Weekday Excursion Camps?
Our day camps run from Tuesday-Friday (9:00am-3:30pm) throughout July & August.
What do I bring?
Day Campers should bring a sun hat, water bottle, backpack, extra layers for weather and warmth, bug spray, sunscreen, sturdy footwear (ideally waterproof), and a bagged lunch with snacks.
What does it cost?
